Google has gone Local!

Goolge search has gone local. More and more locally searched businesses have been appearing in non local terms. For example if you search the term "Dentist" on Google, you will likely find some dental terms that are taken from the Google search for "Dentist New York".

This means that if a business wants to promote itself on the internet it should promote itself locally first and for most. Establishing a local presence on the internet is important and easily done by registering and promoting your businesses in respected local directories. Google recognizes these directories as local authority sites.

Just a few of these 'local directories' are Yelp, Citysearch,Metrodentist.net, Yahoo Local and Google Maps. Metro Dentist New York is an example of a hyper local directory, just featuring local dentists from the new york metropolitan area. If you have a dental office In located in New York City or even any other municipality, you should make sure you should make sure you have your local internet listings in order and updated properly. Participating in hyperlocal New York directories can be especially helpful , since these only feature New York Area businesses. Metrodentist.net only feautures selected New York Area Dental Practices!
